The Certified Business Management Consultant (CBMC) and Certified Business Researcher (CBR)  mark is awarded by the CBMRA to consultants or researchers who have achieved a level of performance that includes professional standards in technical competency and ethics, and global standards in research and consulting competencies, professional behaviour, client and project management, and personal conduct.

Here are some of the requirements for the CBR and CBMC:

• Experience: For CBMC, the candidate must have at least 3 years experience in the area of consultancy. For CBR, the candidate must have experience conducting research either qualitative research or a quantitative research. 
• Education: For CBMC, the candidate shall have a minimum of diploma and CBR candidates for a minimum of degree. 
• References: Five satisfactory client evaluations from officers or executives of client organizations.
• Engagements: Written summaries of engagements, which will used during the oral examination.
• Competence: For CBMC, a qualifying written examination followed by an oral examination with senior CBMC examiners. You must demonstrate your professional competence, that you are current in your areas of specialization, that you have applied your experience and that you have an understanding of the management consulting process. For CBR, you need to publish a journal in an index journal and undergo an interview with senior CBR examiners
• Ethics: A qualifying oral examination during the final examination
